Wearing Fair Isle patterns

Hello! This is Otake from Nine Tailor Shop .

At the end of last month, I took a vacation and went on a trip to Thailand!

I only memorized two Thai words, "Sawasdee ka" and "Kopkun ka," and used them whenever I could, and the rest of the time I got through the eight days with my trusty body language. Thanks to the kind people of Thailand, I had a fun trip.

The inbound tourists who come to Nine Tailor Shop say "hello" and "thank you" in Japanese with sparkling eyes, and now I understand how they felt at that time, so I am aware that I am giving them an incredibly gentle smile.

Today, we are not introducing Thailand, but a series of Fair Isle patterns that give you a Scottish feel.

First up is the knitted hat with pom-pom from N-1518/Mugwort Watch .

Nine Tailor experts will be familiar with this.

The patterns and textures are upgraded every season and are back again this year.

This time we have adopted the traditional Fair Isle pattern, which is said to have originated on Fair Isle in the Shetland Islands in Scotland.

It has a history of 400 years!

Compared to the Nordic pattern of large reindeer and snowflakes that is a staple of autumn and winter, this design features small, colorful geometric patterns painted over several layers.

Fair Isle was originally a place where many different cultures passed through and interacted, and it seems that the woven patterns that were introduced from there were then developed into unique patterns by the people of Fair Isle, reflecting their own lifestyles, nature, and religious sensibilities.

It's so cute with a series of motifs that are hard to describe.

This time, it comes in four colors, ranging from basic black to a purple mix with a somewhat retro feel, and is sure to appeal to those who like it.

The pattern is made of mohair, which gives it an elegant luster and soft brushed feel, creating a more natural look.

You can see the soft texture from the photo.

And this pom-pom can be removed.

It can be fastened with a pin on the pompom side, so you can enjoy both depending on your outfit.

Sometimes I display them in the store with the pom-pom parts removed, and when a customer picks them up without noticing, they look at me with an expression that says, "Oh no, I broke it..." and I feel really sorry.

And the same series N-1519 / Mugwort Armwarmer that we have been seeing for a while now.

Like the knitted hat, these arm warmers are soft and expressive thanks to the mohair used in part of the pattern.

It's not too long and not too short, which is probably the most comfortable balance.

The ribbed wrist area keeps out the cold air that can get in when you move your hand, keeping you warm all the time.

Not only are knit hats and arm warmers available as a set, but arm warmers are also a great gift idea.

It is also recommended for the season.

It would be nice to wear different colors with your friends!

Well, this time we are proposing three different types in this series.

Lastly, N-1520 / Mugwort Stole ( sorry, the black one is sold out. )

It is finished in a tubular shape and has ribbed ends of different lengths, giving it the impression of a loosely wrapped sweater.

When I wasn't in the mood for a fringe scarf, I used to wear a real sweater over my shoulders, but it felt strange to carry another sweater on top of a sweater during the cold season, so I thought this was it! ( According to my research )

Personally, I'm a big fan of purple, so Purple Mix is my top pick, but all the colors have a soft texture and are very cute.

The temperature has dropped significantly, and the colors are still available at this time.

Please come to our store and try it out.

We look forward to seeing you.
