KOMAKI KOHEI exhibition 3rd

KOMAKI KOHEI exhibition 3rd
2025.3.22(sat) – 3.23(sun)
It feels like a dream that I was walking around with my shoulders hunched just the other day. Some days the weather is lovely and warm, but other days it suddenly starts snowing, and it feels like we are right in the middle of the change of seasons. I hope everyone is doing well.
Recently, the number of warmer days has increased little by little, and I find myself going out for walks even though I have no particular reason to, feeling the pleasant sunlight shining through the window. It's refreshing to see the flowers and cityscape and feel the change of seasons.
Some of you may be experiencing busy days with many changes in not only the temperature but also your work and environment, but it is at times like these that I would like you to cherish the time you have to relax and unwind.
This time, we would like to introduce you to this event that is sure to give you the energy to do your best tomorrow.

A glass exhibition and sales event by glassblower Komaki Kohei will be held for two days from Saturday, March 22nd, 2025 to Sunday, March 23rd, 2025.
This event is always a huge success, and this marks the third time it has been held at Nine Tailor shop!
I'm sure many of you already know, but let me introduce you to Mr. Komaki again.
He currently creates his works in a studio located in the mountains at an altitude of 700 meters in Yamanashi Prefecture.
Glassblowing is a technique in which molten glass is wrapped around the end of a rod (a thin pipe) and then blown into the glass in a balloon-like manner. It has a very long history, dating back to the 1st century BC. The humidity of the day and the way the glass is blown into the glass will make a big difference in the glass.
As the softened glass will bend downwards due to gravity alone, the rod is turned with one hand to find the center of the glass, and with the other hand a wet newspaper or similar material is used to shape it.
These works, which have been truly brought to life, each have a different expression and are each one of a kind.
In addition to Komaki's iconic pecori glass and cozy glass, he will also be creating pieces inspired by Nakameguro's cherry blossoms, which were well received last time.
In addition, Komaki is scheduled to be in attendance on the first day, Saturday, March 22nd.
Of course, there will be information about the work, but you might also hear some secret stories that you don't normally get to hear...
Please look forward to it.
The message also read, "Thank you for always purchasing our glasses. On the first day, while we are in the gallery, we will draw an illustration of a glass on a paper bag and give it to you. Please come and visit us."
I received this from Komaki-san.
You'll have time to stare at the artworks, each with its own unique expression, and make your selection. After you've taken the piece home, even if it's a difficult choice, your life will surely become more exciting.
All our staff look forward to sharing this excitement with you all.
