Spring, take flight!

It suddenly feels like spring these days, and for those with hay fever, this is the time of year when tissue consumption shines at number one. I'm one of you.
Recently, I heard that rooibos tea is good for pollen, so I drink it whenever I get a chance. A beautiful person told me about it, so I feel like I'm already getting better due to a placebo effect. (*2 weeks)
Well then, today, following the sparrows embroidery caps from autumn/winter, I'd like to introduce the parakeet embroidery series, which features eye-catching vivid colors.
They're flying! I can feel the dynamism.
The vivid green and red beak of the bird embroidery remind me of a tropical paradise.
This is a Rose-ringed Parakeet, a bird not originally native to Japan.
Those who have been following Nine Tailor for a while might have thought, "Oh?"
And for those who are reading this blog for the first time, you might be wondering, "Why parakeets?"
Actually, this is related to our 2025 autumn/winter collection.
And here it is, the sparrow cap
It sold like hotcakes. Pun intended.
My apologies.
The previous sparrow cap was an item that conveyed a message about the current society, where sparrows, once so common, have become scarce for various reasons.
While you might think the parakeet cap also carries a message about endangered species, this time it's designed around the theme of invasive alien species that have become a problem in recent years due to overpopulation.
However, these vibrant and beautiful parakeets are not at fault. They were originally kept as pets in India and Sri Lanka, but escaped during import or were abandoned, becoming feral.
Rose-ringed parakeets are often disliked due to noise pollution from their loud cries, but if you consider that they were thrown into an unfamiliar land by human hands and struggled to survive, they are quite resilient, aren't they?
It's also an item that allows us to express such rebelliousness through a hat.
I'm about to become a parakeet expert, so let's get back to introducing the items.
Among Nine Tailor's offerings, this has a silhouette with a strong curved brim.
The brim is also long, making it a cap that can be worn with a stylish impression.
And what makes the vivid embroidery stand out even more is the natural-textured ramie linen fabric.
Ramie and linen (flax) are often simply labeled as "hemp" in Japan, but both have distinct advantages.
Ramie is characterized by its high strength among natural fibers and its crispness and firmness.
Compared to linen alone, it's a material with an elegant sheen.
It's said to be an ancient natural fiber, discovered in ruins from the early Jomon and Yayoi periods...
Considering it's a material that protected life in harsh environments of the past, its strength is certainly proven.
Linen is a material that, by containing air within its fibers, can be worn cool and comfortably during the upcoming season.
It also excels in moisture absorption and release, so personally, I often wear linen shirts in spring and summer.
It often feels cooler than being directly exposed to sunlight.
Also, both are strong against water and washing, and as you use them, the surface gets fuzzy and softens to the touch.
The ability to wash a hat for the upcoming season is also an important point, isn't it?
By carefully dyeing small quantities of fabric sewn from these two natural fibers without applying mechanical pressure or tension, we achieved this natural yet deep expression.
The overall tone is kept consistent, allowing the texture of the material to be enjoyed while adding the vibrant embroidery as a focal point to the styling. The size, which isn't too overpowering when viewed as a whole, is also excellent.
The soft texture of the natural material naturally blends into styling that incorporates worn-in vintage items.
The natural wrinkles created during the drying process after dyeing give it an even richer character.
This color is my top recommendation.
A deep purple, an atmosphere that only linen can achieve.
Honestly, this color best accentuates the embroidery.

A metro hat characterized by its beautifully rounded crown and a short, downward-sloping brim.
Compared to flat-top hats, metro hats have a silhouette that is easy to wear regardless of head shape or face shape.
On this hat, the embroidery is subtly placed on the side.
The brim is meticulously angled so that it doesn't cover the eyes or interfere with the neckline.
Although the fabric softens with prolonged use, the brim has many stitches, so it can be worn while maintaining its shape.
